Tom Fryers will be speaking at Smart Utilities, Australia and New Zealand, Melbourne, 3 Nov 2010.
Water scarcity is already a significant challenge for Australia, where some areas have recently experienced more than a decade of drought. Smart meters, as part of intelligent water networks, can be instrumental in engaging consumers, reducing consumption and managing water distribution to help alleviate the problem of dwindling supplies and increasing population.
Tom Fryers, Commercial Director of Sentec Ltd, UK and heading up Aquiba, a joint venture between Sentec and Takahata Precision, will be exploring better ways to acquire smart water meters: how to engage with technology developers and how to future-proof your investment. His talk will also cover how sensible use of standards can stimulate new product development and help you achieve economies of scale, and the long term drivers for change in the technology supply base.
Tom will apply his extensive knowledge of the metering industry and technology trends to identify new and mutually beneficial ways for water companies and their suppliers to work together to deliver the intelligent water networks that we need in the future.

See Aquiba and A200 at Smart Utilities Australia & New Zealand on 3-4 November 2010 in Melbourne, Australia.
